SDI course

Sidemount Diver

Go technical. Two cylinders at your sides, and trim that falls into place.

Duration
2-3 days
Group
Max 4 per instructor
Where
Šibenik, Brač and Tisno

Sidemount moves the cylinders from your back to your sides. Done well, it makes trim easier, gives you redundant gas, and is kinder to your back on land. Done badly, it is a tangle. We start with configuration on land, then trim, regulator switching and valve drills in the water.

Who it's for

  • You want cleaner trim and a second gas supply you can see.
  • Back-mounted cylinders are hard on your back.

What you'll work on

  1. 01Rigging and configuring a sidemount harness
  2. 02Trim with a cylinder at each side
  3. 03Gas management and switching regulators
  4. 04Valve drills and problem solving, on no-decompression dives
