SDI courses, Skill Labs and boat dives in CroatiaNot deeper. Not faster. Better.

Full SDI courses from your first breath to Divemaster, Skill Labs for divers who are already certified, and small-group boat dives from Šibenik.

Why Sipa

Ever watched a cuttlefish?

The sipa doesn't flail. It hovers, motionless, then moves exactly as far as it wants. And stops. Perfect buoyancy, perfect control, zero wasted motion.

That's the standard we train to.

What we offer

Skill Labs. Short. Focused. Filmed.

Workshops on one skill at a time. No certification card, no exam, no fluff. Just you, the water, and honest coaching. Groups of 4 max.

All Open Water Courses. From first breath to divemaster.

Full SDI certification courses, taught the Sipa way: small groups, unhurried, with the same attention to control and trim that we bring to everything.

Beyond Advanced

For divers who want to expand their skills.

Nitrox, Dry Suit, Sidemount or DPV. Each a standalone course, each one taken at your own pace. Pick the one that matches where you want your diving to go: longer bottom times, year-round comfort, going technical, or covering ground effortlessly.

Limited groups

Try dives are possible for Sidemount and DPV: one dive with us before you commit to the course.

Boat dives in small groups.

We leave from Šibenik and choose the sites on the day, by the weather, anywhere between Žirje and Rogoznica. Reefs full of life, walls covered in gorgonians, wrecks. Never more than 6 recreational divers or 4 technical divers per dive.

Where we dive

Šibenik, Brač and Tisno

Our base is Šibenik, where the boat dives leave from. Labs and courses also run at Tisno and on Brač, with partner dive centres. Year-round.

Two SDI instructors

Sipa Diving is a family business: two software engineers who fell in love with diving and decided to take teaching it as seriously as we take our craft. That background shows in how we work: we break skills down into small, learnable pieces, we debug problems instead of just repeating "relax," and we believe in feedback you can actually see. The video debrief isn't a gimmick; it's how we'd want to be taught.

Questions

Do I need to be certified to work with you?

We work both with certified and non-certified divers. Let us know your goals and we can arrange a plan.

I'm certified with PADI/SSI/CMAS. Does that matter?

Not at all. Skills don't care about logos. SDI courses also accept prior certifications from any recognized agency.

Do you teach complete beginners?

Yes. Full SDI Open Water courses and specialities.

I have a disability. Can I dive with you?

SDI's Scubility program adapts training to a wide range of physical and cognitive conditions, and every situation is different, so rather than a blanket answer, we'd rather talk.

Do you teach technical diving?

Not at the moment. Certified technical divers can still join our boat dives, in groups of four at most. What we do now is get divers technical-ready: the buoyancy, trim, gas and equipment skills tech instructors expect on day one. When you're ready, we are happy to point you to the right people.

I haven't dived in years. Do I need to redo my certification?

No, your certification doesn't expire. What fades is comfort, and that comes back faster than you think. A refresher of a day or two (theory recap, skills in shallow water, a proper dive) and most divers are surprised how quickly it all returns. About the refresher

Where do the sessions actually happen?

In three places: Šibenik, our base and where the boat dives leave from, and Tisno and Brač, where labs and courses run with partner dive centres. If somewhere else suits you better, ask. Location is one of the things we can arrange. Where we dive

What happens if the weather is bad?

We move the date. Sessions are not cancellable, but bad weather is not your fault and not ours, so if conditions are unusable we agree a new date together. Your booking stays.
